AhlulBayt News Agency: The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine held the "Crown of Chastity" festival to honor female students wearing the Iraqi abaya at Karbala University.
The festival was organized by the University and School Relations Division of the Public Relations Department at the Holy Shrine, as part of the National Al-Kafeel Youth Project, in the presence of board member Dr. Abbas Al-Dadah Al-Moussawi, several of its officials, the President of Karbala University Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, several deans of colleges, and faculty members.
The festival included several speeches, including one by Dr. Abbas Al-Dadah Al-Mousawi for the holy shrine, another by the university president, as well as an educational and guiding lecture presented by Sheikh Zaman Al-Hasnawi, a poetic contribution by poet Mohammed Al-Yasiri, and religious chants by the Radood Mohammed Al-Tamimi.
The head of the university activities unit, Mr. Mustafa Fallah Irsan, said: "As part of the series of activities organized by the Public Relations Department, aimed at honoring female students wearing the Iraqi abaya on campus, the Chastity Crown Festival was held today in cooperation with the presidency of Karbala University, during which more than 2,700 female students were honored."
For his part, the university president, Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, said: "The festival represents the fruit of continuous cooperation and coordination with the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, and aims to raise awareness among female students about the importance of adhering to the hijab and the Iraqi abaya, as they are part of the cultural identity and moral values of society."
The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine aims to hold the festival to promote authentic Islamic values and reinforce the commitment to wearing the abaya among female students.
